Shopping for A Picky Little Fashionista
Last week, my daughter said she had an ’emergency’. Lol. It was her skirt. It didn’t fit anymore. In a span of two months she grew so fast, now most of her clothes don’t fit her! I guess, there’s no putting it off, and its time to get that store barcode scanner going. The only problem though is that, my 8 year old is a very picky fashionista. She likes her clothes to ‘match’.
And I am a very frugal mom. So how do these two things marry? We made a bargain and a budget limit for each outfit set – $10. I don’t want to splurge coz I know in a few months she’ll outgrow these things already and I also don’t want her to look like she’s wearing a sack. Thankfully, here in Phnom Penh, that budget is easy to deal with. We have a lot of factory overrun stores and one of my favorites would be Weexport. They sell branded stuff from factories in Vietnam and Cambodia. You get brands like GAP, Osk Kosh B’gosh, CK, Target brands and the like at just about 10-15% of their rack prices.
So here’s the loot this morning. I bought 3 sets and spent just over $25. These are all brand new..
The Children’s Place green tank top $4.95 + George Black leggings $2.95
Osh Kosh B’gosh top $5.95 + George black leggings $2.95
PS by Aeropostale Tank Top $3.50 + Basic Editions Plaid Ruffle Skirt $6.50
Prices I could swallow and style she loves. Now these is what I call compromise shopping.. LOl.
