Rambling On

On Vacation. Sort Of.

Something not so good happened to me. I don’t want to go into details but you can read some of my travel misadventures on my other blog – How I Got Robbed and Lost My Passport in Vietnam. I can only laugh at it now, but to be honest it was one of the toughest experiences I ever had.

I’m in the Philippines right now and just waiting for my replacement passport to be released, and its an excruciatingly long wait. Replacements passport here will need to be cleared for 15 days before they start processing a new one. So yeah, I’ve been in the Philippines for a couple of weeks already. So I had been telling myself I’m having a grand vacation.

Thankfully, I don’t have a 9-5 job back home in Phnom Penh. It’s just too bad I have to put on hold my baking business when I was already earning a decent amount and have regular clients. My web based business can be easily done anywhere but internet connection here in the Philippines plain sucks! So I can’t do much updating and tech work.

So what have I been doing while waiting for my new docs? I’ve been spending a lot of time with my mom. I’ve been visiting relatives and old friends. Catching up on some reading. Reorganizing my messy offline files. I was hoping we could do a bit of traveling but alas! the rainy weather here sucks and my son is with me and its hard to bring him around. I’m still hoping we could do a bit of shopping before we go back to Phnom Penh and I’ve been meaning to look for a beginner ukelele for my daughter.

All in all, I think this was a great break for me. The past two years had been specially exhausting and being here for a few weeks without much to do except look after myself and my son was just what I needed to revive me. Hopefully, I could also get around to finishing re-vamping this site. There are loads of posts that need categorizing and tagging since I merged my two older blogs here.

I guess I’ll just keep on sending constant prayers to internet deities to at least make the net connection here steady.
