Birth Balls for Pregnant Women
Hi guys! It’s been awhile. In fact, a few months have passed since my last update.
Well, here I am still pregnant at 39 weeks and 4 days! And I so wish I could go into labor now. I can’t wait to see my little one. But right now, no signs of labor yet. Sigh. I guess he’s not so much in a hurry.
Another reason I want to give birth soon – backpains! Heavens! But having this really heavy bump is just a strain on the back. Thankfully, there are some ways to relieve it. My favorite is using the gym ball aka the birth ball for pregnant women! Believe me, I consider it my best buy ever during this pregnancy.
It’s a regular gym ball, but since we use it for pregnancy and labor we get to call it a birth ball. It’s an awesome awesome relief for backpains. Check out these posts on how to use a birth ball and this really informative article about birth balls on spinning babies.
Experts also recommend doing exercises on it to help the baby go into posterior position for birth and also a huge help to settle the baby down and open up a woman’s pelvis. I’ve also discovered that on the later part of pregnancy, I tend to get a lot of air and be flatulent and one of the instant reliefs I could do is to go on all fours and hug the birth ball. Fast fast relief, I tell you.
